BOOK: Providing Practical Support for People with Autism Spectrum Disorder

Written by IDEAS Lancashire Director - Denise Edwards - and with a foreword by E Veronica (Vicky) Bliss, this book gives formal and informal carers insights into life on the autistic spectrum and provides the information they need to ensure a person’s needs are met successfully.

Denise writes directly from her own experiences of finding appropriate support for her son, John, who has Asperger's syndrome and also draws on the experiences of a broad range of people on the spectrum, their family members and carers.

Autism Initiatives

WEBSITE: Autism Initiatives

Autism Initiatives provides a range of person-centred services throughout the UK. The charity provides services to children and adults. The services provided by Autism Initiatives are significantly different from those provided by generic learning disability and mental health services, in that they are underpinned by a clear understanding of good autism practice and a person-centred approach to understanding the unique needs an individual may have in relation to their autism.
